Chapel of ease to Longhoughton Parish Church. The building in Boulmer Village erected by the Duke of Northumberland as a church and schoolroom in 1881. The building is plain and functional and is used solely as the church now. [The Newcastle Diocesan Gazetteer (1982), page 93.]
