Small rectangular church - present church is mainly late eighteenth century or early nineteenth century. Access to it is by path adjacent to farm buildings of Bingfield Farm.
The parish is one of three churches in the parish of St Oswald in Lee and pre-1879 it was a chapel-of-ease to St John Lee. [The Newcastle Diocesan Gazetteer (1982), page 32.]
