The then Lord Redesdale had the church built and endowed with the living. It is built high up on the side of a hill overlooking the Rede Valley. It is a pleasant building with fine oak pews and a magnificent reredos behind the altar. In the porch is a Roman altar and several interesting stones that have been unearthed locally.
