The church of St. Mary Magdalene, erected in 1880, is an edifice of stone, in the Perpendicular style, consisting of chancel, nave, transepts, south porch, and a turret containing one bell; there are 300 sittings: attached is a burial ground, consecrated Oct. 17, 1870. The register dates from 1880. The living is a vicarage, average tithe rent-charge £168, net yearly value £230, with residence, in the gift of the Duke of Northumberland K.G. and held since 1882 by the Rev.
