St. Anne's Chapel is situated on the north side of the New-road. It was erected by the corporation, on the site of an old chapel dedicated to the same saint, and is a neat commodious structure, erected with materials taken from that part of the town's wall which extended along the quay. This chapel was licensed as a district church, for baptisms, marriages, and deaths, in 1842. It will accommodate about 190 persons. The living is a curacy; gross income, £110.
